>>When you are prepared to conduct an intelligent discourse, let me know!<< I suspect that it lies in the fact that they are in love with ATHM and rode it all the way down from it's high. In any case they are very childish. ahhawhatever's bully tactics amaze me. In a previous post he actually told me that he would be watching me... something akin to a child on a street corner! I could actually see his chest puffing as he composed that would be prose. What can this possibly have to do with making money? I hope he feels better! There is one on this thread (imp something) that you attempted to reason with which speaks as though he is 18 (really) and is using his daddy's credit card to buy stocks. This guy actually thinks he's a a flower child (or is it Junior KKK or Nazi) and talks of revolution and evolution and people power. It's as though he was digging through some of his daddy's John Lennon albums. Ah the naivete of youth! The stockmarket is a treacherous place for a dreamer! This hostility appears to be part of the healing process. I have observed this childish behavior on other threads after a sell off. Well, stocks go up and stocks go down! I think these guys forgot about the down part. Buy low and sell high... even if you are in love with the stock! When you look at your brokerage statement, the only number that matters is the bottom line. The securities that make up a portfolio are irrelevant. I think some of these guys believe that they actually have to make money on every stock they buy, especially the ones they fall in love with. Narrow minded people tend to lose money because they can't accept the possibility that they may have made an error. In some this manifests in child-like behavior and transference--looking for someone to blame. Or worse yet, they try to fight the market because they know that they are right. Never fight the tape. Some don't even record the losses in their minds. They just tell themselves that the money is still there. Well you don't have to go home with the one you brung (sic) to the dance. It's peculiar, though, to spend a week on a thread and find little in the way of a useful discussion on the merits of a co, and instead, squabble with the participants in an apparent turf war. All this back biting! And to resort to name calling because you can't win an argument... well need I say more? It's common after a sell off for the thread to get a little ragged. In any case, for those interested in making money rather than stroking their bruised egos, this thread will remain a good resource. I take it as a good sign that the whiners haven't started looking for a white knight yet... That's the usual scenario. There appears to be a general positive sentiment among of the thread participants, other than the bullies who feel threatened by your very presence (and mine). Things will settle down after a few days. I do find it interesting, that people around here act as though you just beat up their mother when you mention AOL. Sour grapes, I guess. I'm headed out to prepare for a yacht race to the Coronados tomorrow. Nice distraction from this ilk. We'll see what happens next week. Back-up the truck! --Dave
