I have heard the exact opposite, that the graphics was fully functional- but there were speed issues in the CPU core.

You are right. There were more than just speed problems in the core. The entire project in Richardson was mismanaged. That is why those guys got booted. The graphics were designed by the team in Longmont, CO. This is the only team that NSM kept to go forward with (other than the guys in Israel).
