DOLLAR/DM RATE DECADE CHART

tfc-charts.w2d.com

The Euro is interesting because it's the only currency as maligned as gold. Wouldn't pay much attention to the supposed fundamental reasons why the EURO is weak.

During the Asian financial crisis/LTCM debacle, we learned that hedge funds can collude and become so large that they gain the ability to protect their positions in one market by influencing prices in another market. That's what triggered the Asian financial crisis, and that's what is now pressuring the Australian dollar, the South African rand and the Euro. That's also what greenspan wanted to keep quite and unregulated, which is why your CFTC heroine had to leave.

The boys leave Europe little choice. Either Greenspan and Summers reverse the dollar bubble, or the Euro CB's will be forced to it.
