Why don't we rename this thread "Microsoft Eulogies". Since this is "dead" money and this "bad software" company can't possibly survive both the lynch mob led by JPJ and competition from all the "good software" alternatives, I think this would be appropriate. We should all cash out and have a big party--sort of a wake. The other alternative would be to rename the thread "Rumors of Microsoft's death have been greatly exaggerated". Which should it be? Captain, MSFT's put warrants are from 78 to 69. There are 161 million contracts of them. This translates to 16.1 Billion shares worth. They expire in June 00 to Dec02. If stock opens lower Monday below 78 and looks like it is heading lower, the board will approve stock buyback in no time as MSFT cannot buy 16.1 Billion shares; who ever bought the contracts from MSFT won't have 16.1Billion shares to sell to MSFT and will have to go short at 69 to 78. Also, there is so much negativity around and everyone expecting a selloff that when DOJ comes with possible remedies, when it actually comes out, the uncertainity might clear this week. This is why I am in a bit of hurry. I will wait for Monday first 15 minutes of trading and then start taking positions. If it goes down at open and stays that way for a few minutes, that will be the best.
