HJ I am using more MSFT stuff every day, and you are from Seattle, AND you bought at IPO - all fair enough. But his "philanthropy" is the hallmark of every crook in human history buying influence and a good name. Bill Gates, so far as I know, is not a "bad" person in relative terms -- we are after all just talking about sleazy business practices and not breaking legs (or much, much worse). But I cannot say for one second that I admire him either. MSFT used illegal business practices to get where they are today. I would be happy to see them spanked really hard and put to bed without supper - which is, after all, about the worst that can happen to them. The negative fallout will be years and years of ongoing law suits -- a warning out there for any other companies thinking of following in their footsteps. That is good news.
