I hope for the child love, caring and understanding prevails. I am sure everyone wishes the best for the child. I would hope for a larger reunion of the 'families', and in private, alone which would be even more helpful for Elian. That will not happen. Only time will tell what will be the outcome. What is disturbing is the way this is handled, and added to the lousy record this administration has created. This is what disturbs me. So this picture is a reminder of the hypocrisy in our country and especially this Democratic administration. Instead of advocating an open meeting with the families in a neutral area as a 'free'ly governed country should, to have 'storm-troopers' raid and given to his 'hostage' father and you know Elian's father is 'handled' is outrageous especially if there is a huge chance of them going back to a Communist state. Pity. Liberial socialist thinking. Time will tell. I like the CNN reporter who, in Cuba, gets to interview anyone he wants and they (the interviewed) are happy to see Elian reunited with his father but 'off-record' wishes Elian to stay in the US. Time.-- Child-Labor-- Regarding educational plans, Maj Fidel Castro said that the 44 primary schools recently opened are taking care of more students than all the boarding schools that existed before the triumph of the revolution, including private schools. He added that these boarding schools--in which the students receive agricultural training--will have increased four- fold by 1976, and he mentioned a system that has been put into effect to encourage primary school children in work habits. These children work in noneconomic gardens and assemble toys of wood and of other materials. 1972 SPEECH 2ND NATL ASSEMBLY OF THE CDR -DATE- 19721126 -YEAR- 1972 -DOCUMENT_TYPE- SPEECH -AUTHOR- F.
