-X. >SEMI March book-to-bill is 1.45! A all time high in SEMI history.

THe SEMI single month booking number is also record breaking. Sometjing is going on here:

Is Microsoft crying poormouth to get the DOJ to back off some? Microsoft is saying one thing and Intel/AMD/Dell/HP (who else?) another. Still, to say that Intel and AMD are sold out is not to say that they are cranking out CPU chips as fast as they'd both like to. Intel underforecast demand, hence the big increment in capital spending to catch up to the demand, and AMD is still pretty small compared to Intel. Still again, if Intel underforecast, things can't be as relatively weak as Microsoft is leading us to believe.

I wouldn't say the signals out of Microsoft and all the rest of the industry are 180 degrees out from each other, but they do seem quite a lot at odds.
