I believe CSCO was the first company to have a DOCSIS compliant head end on the market... the UBR.

THis product has been around for quite a while now.

Sheesh.. that RiverDelta thing hasn't even passed CableLab Certification yet and they're already dissing the incumbent - LOL! The MSO space is as hard to get into as the RBOC's and fwiw MSO's are more interested in interoperability with thier provisioning systems than they are with the "carrier class" label. What does River Delta mean when they say "carrier class" is it NEB's compliant? - NOT! RiverDelta is talking a good game but they have a long way to go. They may get there.. but it won't be easy. LU will be a big help for them.
