Isn't it the conservatives who go on and on and on about parental rights? And aren't they especially concerned about the place of honor that father's hold as the heads of the patriarchal family we should all be living in? Or does that only apply to non-communist fathers?

As I understand it this kid's mom endangered his life to get him here, stealing him away from his father. Now through her own negligence she is dead, and the boy was almost killed. His father- his FATHER- comes to get him and there is controversy about giving this kid back? If an American woman abducted her kid and took a raft to Cuba and killed herself and almost killed her kid on the way- and the boy was rescued by Cubans- would we expect Cuba to give the kid back to his biological father- even if he had some great great uncle or auntie living there? I'm thinking we'd expect Cuba to put the kid on the next place to the US.

<<What's more important, scoring a moral triumph over the Commie bastards or keeping one more dark-skinned furriner out of the U.S. of A....?>>

Maybe giving a kid a shot at a decent life his mother died trying to get him.
