I'm amazed at the fact that nobody cares what the mother's wishes were. She risked (and lost) her life to bring her son to freedom. Now that she's dead, her wishes are meaningless. If she had lived, the child and her would be American citizens right now. I hope my will is carried out as per my wishes when I die... As opposed to people making charges against me that I can no longer defend.

Communist education/indoctrination camp is mandatory for all 10 year old Cuban children. Juan Miguel did not regain custody of Elian today, Castro did.

That was the part I found most unethical: the intentional bombardment of Elian with all those toys, pop icons, and other perks of the land of milk and honey. Not at all that his stay here should have been boring or sparse, but the brainwashing attempt was, at best, shameless.
