Thanks for your response MGV. I like your example with PSFT, SAP and ORCL (forgot BAAN..do they still exist)in the enterprise application segment. The main reason for ORCL's success is the due to the fact that it has more than ONE source of rev. Where as SAP, PSFT, BAAN all would need to sell the application pkg. to survive.

In the area of content management, you have to identify the company that offers products to cater to all the aspect of WEB and content. That's is where I am bit concerned about IWOV and others.

The second reason for ORCL's success comes from their deep pockets. This would come handy when the going gets tough. Also, can't rule out the fact that if content management is high margin business then big boys like MSFT, ORCL and IBM most likely will come to the party sooner than later. Just look at the announcement last month by these BIG BOYS to provide products like TIBX and other small players as they saw the potential in WEB integration (Total Solution Providers).

The more I look at the technology landscape, Big companies are all trying to do this stuff whether it's hardware or software likes of CISCO, Nortel, Lucent are now making partnership arrangements with Consulting Firm to ensure that they can cater to all the IT needs that touches their products. Next year or so will be very exciting and challenging.

All the best.

Regards,
