I sort of agreed on the special thing, and that's why I gave in. As I said my kids are known as being very well behaved, except maybe the stubborn, independent, 2 year old. Anyway, there are occasions when they won't listen to my wife. That never happens with me however. One day I asked my son why he didn't listen to her all the time like with me and he said "because you always do a punishment when we do something wrong, and she only does sometimes." I then asked him if I was too mean and he said "no, you're the best dad in the whole world. We know we're not supposed to do stuff." Then my wife and in-laws wonder why the kids do what ever I tell them, without me ever raising a hand, or my voice. I tell them it's all in the consistency. They want limits. You're not a terrible daddy, you sound like a pretty great one to me.

My children were under threat of losing the chance to color eggs also. The two boys lost going roller skating today because of their wild boy like behaviors!!! They were very indigniate that they did not get to go skating, they did on the other hand get to have lunch with their dad. I told them the next thing they lost would be coloring eggs.....which they had been patiently waiting to do. Nobody lost that fun. Took some pics of them all.....making a mess of the kitchen table cloth!!! Great excuse to put the new table cloth on and throw away this one!!!

Do your kids ever complain about chores.....I used to hate when I would ask one of them to do something.....and they would say that the other one did not have to do as much or something like that. Then I started giving them the other person's chore as well as their own, simply cause they complained.....I hear much less complaining these days!!!
