> Bob : Re ASA v AU arbitrage. Looks to me that now's the time.

On January 18th, the AU/ASA ratio was near its high (1.52) when I suggested shorting 200 AU (28.625) and going long 300 ASA (18.875). The AU short would have made you almost $2000, with a loss of $1000 on ASA, for a net arbitrage profit of $1000. The ratio is now at the low end of its range, therefore no arbitrage opportunity.

I really like my January 30th post even better:

Message 12725474

"I was really trying to support my previous "hunch" that AU was really a SELL near $US29. It probably isn't a compelling buy until it get closer to $US20"

Looks like I called the exact top, and we are now at the $20 objective I set - better put some money where my mouth is and buy some AU !
