I am happy for 9984 to get there however it can, but just get there. The Internet will propel economic growth, deflate ex-factory and distribution prices, and disrupt many professions and upset income schedules. The obvious effects would be on PC, financial advice, and eventually legal advice. Not so obvious would be on psychological counseling, at once driving demand for it given the volatility of the I.net and E.com share prices, and increasing supply for it given the plentiful multitude of chat sites and e-mail pals. Good that we have a balance of supply and demand. Multinational, multicultural, multi-lingo, and of course multi-perspective. I find our thread therapeutic and calming in face of adversity. Makes rash moves less likely, if we would just read, sometimes between the lines and beyond the periods. Before the market has a chance to go sharply either way, which ever way, I note that my lifestyle has improved of late. Hong Kong is on holiday today, emptied of residents for the most part over the four-day weekend, with the masses heading north into China and the few to Philippines, Thailand, Maldives, and probably Bali. (Side comment, strange thing that we in HK has gotten into the habit of saying ? I am going INTO or OUT OF China, as opposed to I am going TO the Philippines or coming BACK from Thailand. Do the folks in Miami say ? INTO and OUT OF Cuba?) Wife and I did no work, news watching, housework or cooking over the last few days. Up from bed, head for the new sea shore mall in Stanley (5 minutes drive), sit at ocean view terrace caf‚ and breakfast on fruits and meander in thoughts communicated in slow conversation, pick at muffins and sip at ice coffee. Poorer, yes, but wiser, certainly. After due reflection, consideration and deliberation, I probably would choose richer and stupid, ignorant, moronic and idiotic. Wife would choose richer and wiser. But we take what we are dealt with. Also did the massage, facial, video rental, and comparatively stressful activities like flower shopping. Ok, enough of this mindless gibberish drivel for now. What does channel 9984 has for us today to refresh the mind, uplift the spirit to a different plane and update the Quicken 2000.
