Three W-CDMA networks in Japan alone - and you don't think this is a major market? Nokia has never sold even one base station in this country. And now it gets a shot at delivering three 3G networks - what is that; chopped liver?

By next winter, at least a dozen W-CDMA orders will be placed in Europe alone. Then another dozen. And then another. The Asian/European W-CDMA market towers over 1XRTT market; there is no doubt about that whatsoever.

As far as Australia is concerned - think about it. Nokia is now delivering WAP products. It gets a whack at the 3-4 GRPS networks that will be built in Australia. It gets a whack at the Hutchison GSM-1800 network later this year. Then come the Australian W-CDMA networks.

And you think that Nokia should be concentrating on the Australian 1XRTT market? What market is that? Are there any plans to upgrade the Aussie CDMA networks? I haven't heard anything about that. But I have heard about WAP, GPRS and W-CDMA plans for Australia. I have heard Hutchison discussing its GPRS and EDGE plans.

Why don't we listen to the operators instead of fantasizing about what they should do?
