I did indeed say that I have considered acceptance of the morning- after pill as part of a comprehensive settlement, although I am not certain.

I do not think that discouraging abortion in the first trimester is giving the fetus more rights than the mother, it is deciding in its favor on the continuation of life. The mother otherwise retains substantial control over her life, although she may be discommoded, and is free to relinquish the child after birth. Furthermore, a determined woman will always find a way to have an abortion, especially if most states do what I expect, and are relatively lenient during that period. But at least the law will have made it likelier that she will have given it thought, and approached it with some seriousness, instead of treating human organisms as so much trash.....
