To some degree this is already happening. When Datek can't fill you from ISLD, they Snet the order out. If an MM gives them order-flow $ for it - Datek passes it on to you.

I don't often do market orders, but if the stock ain't too volatile and I'm following the ticker, I've gotten it at the price I wanted.

Imagine we've come from $300+ full commission trades to $0 trades. Ain't this amazing.

And if they send you e-mail confirmations like Datek, you could just print these out for tax confirmation.

I bet they will be overloaded with new accounts.
