CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2000--Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq:VTSS) today announced the establishment of a Venture Fund intended to support the growth of pre-IPO communications companies who are developing cutting-edge components and systems.
The fund will selectively take minority positions in companies who are developing communication-related system and component products.

"Investors who were knowledgeable about high-tech start-ups and the market we were addressing were very helpful to us during our early years," stated Ira Deyhimy, Vitesse co-founder and vice president, strategic business development. following up on Sitera and network processors, here's a nice little matrix and "cute" comment that might interest you:

But as a sugar daddy, Vitesse is not as sweet as Intel, and it lacks the networking ties of IBM and Motorola.
