SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 23 (Reuters) - Intel Corp.
(NasdaqNM:INTC - news)., the world's largest computer
chip maker, will announce on Monday that it has formed a
centre in Beijing to promote wireless Internet technology
throughout China.

Intel plans to announce its plans for its new centre at its Asia Pacific Intel Developer Forum in
China.

The mission of the centre, to be called the Intel Wireless Competence Centre, is to promote
the development of wireless Internet technology through cooperation with leading companies in

content and services for broadband Internet. Intel plans to work with local cellular phone

Intel's Beijing centre is the company's third wireless centre. The first was established in
November 1999 in Stockholm, Sweden, and another was announced in February in Tsukuba,
Japan.

The wireless centres are part of Intel's wireless communications and computing group, which
was formed in December 1999 to focus on developing building blocks for cellular and wireless
communications devices.
