Mark,

Whenever I hear the name todd Rundgren I think of David Bowie - you may have just answered why.

What group did he originate with? I have always been fascinated with the origins of these artists, probably because I discover it so long afterwards.

i.e. Johnny Meistro(sp) of the Brooklyn Bridge came from the Crests (16 candles), Ben E. King (Stand by Me) from the Drifters and of course, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (and I rarely get this right), The Byrds - Buffalo Springfield - the Hollies - Buffalo Springfield -FWIW ;).

Did you also know that Stephen Stills auditioned for The Monkees - along with Harry Nielson but not Charles Manson (a rumor on the net for a very long time). It seems poor Charles was in prison at the time for his very bad rendition of Helter Skelter.

Gary

Outside of Something/Anything I've not been a strong TR fan. I like that album. I think Todd spent too many years in southern California?
