Well, Cheers Tuck, I suppose that in an infinite universe all things are possible.

My guess is that they made the best deal they could, covering both up and down possibilities, based on their judgement. I think that the case is that they hope, as we do, that the market (and the drug in this case) will eventually confirm their judgement rather than them planning a campaign of manipulating the price of the stock. They would have to play it like a violin, timing all the turns just right and hoping everyone else will respond to their signals. Incidentally, in your scenario, the company would have to cooperate with the timed release of press releases and so forth. What would motivate them to do this? Especially, if they have what we think they have. If they were in it to just manipulate the stock price, they would have done lots of things differently.

Bottom-line for me, it just doesn't compute. Worst case is that the stock goes down and they get more shares for their loan than they would have if the stock had gone up. In the long run, if the drug works out, even that won't mean much.

Say, Tuck, I forgot to ask you about the company you were looking into at one time that had a small molecule application. Anything happen with that one? I think that a lot of companies may develop drugs that can get through the blood brain barrier but NEOT has something unique (if 108 patents can protect you) going with the nerve regeneration capability. That has application for any disease that has a neurological component ... like diabetes (!) which has a bigger market than AD.

Do you have a position in NEOT or are you just watching it now?
