Josef, In any machine like this the feedback has to be moderated to stop oscillations. If they could do this "market judo' I am sure they would do it. I suspect it will be easier in an electronic exchange that with manuals exchanges. In fact the human link in the chain might go a long way towards preventing positive feedback mechanisms. Well they stop program trades if they exceed a certain drop in the index. That is a feedback loop stopper. Once the program trades stop the human loop that remains is not capable of the same degree of immediacy and rapid positive/negative ffeedback.
