Tench re <<How many gigahertz Athlons did AMD ship in Q1? How many Athlons at 900 MHz and above did AMD ship?>>

I don't know, I don't know, I DONT KNOW! And I never claimed to know. And I am not saying that AMD shipped more high MHz part than Intel.

And how do you know how much Intel shipped "for a fact"? you don't know that unless you are very high up the food chain in the manufacturing side, which you are not.

Tench,

re:Number of high speed Athlons as 10K.

No specific number of 1Ghz Athlons was Given by Jerry.

He stated that TENS of THOUSANDs of Athlons of 900Mhz and greater were shipped(vast majority were 1Ghz I believe).

And in Q2 it would be HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS.

If we assume that 50K 1Ghz AThlons were shipped. Thats roughly 5% of Athlons.

Intel shipped 12-13M Cumines. 5% would be 600K plus. And we know fer sure that Intel shipped no way near this number.

BTW the market growth YOY was expected to be 15-18%.

Intel's growth YOY on Q1 was FAR less than this kind of growth: either in UNITS or DOLLARS.

Microssoft/GTW/ROW has complained about poor INTEL CPU availability as lowering growth and revenue.

So why are FOLKS not willing to state the facts: INTEL is having yield or manufacturing problems. Despite all the sugarcoating and BS from the Intel fudsters.

regards,

Kash

Tench,

Here is an assignment for you. Ask PB how much longer will all the fabs be receiving the mask fix?
