Dipy, I2 et. al. It might be real nice not to start a heated discussion of Elion here. I will say the republicans better be careful here. If they start endless hearings over this crap they may lose their majority in the house. the kid is with his father on a secure air force base where no Cuban representatives are present. A court will decide custody and he will be staying in the US until then. Doesn't sound like the greatest issue to demagogue. After suggesting we don't discuss it I better shut up<g>

Interestingly if you believe Harry Dent, now would be a good time to throw open the borders. One point he makes is that the average age of immigrants is relatively constant at about 30. Thus immigrants admitted this year would reach age 47 (the peak spending age, according to Dent) in 2017-2018, which is right smack in the middle of his projected depression. Thus if the US were to suddenly increase the permitted levels of immigration it is possible that the coming depression could be averted. But we wouldn't want to do that because we need one.....

As for the discussion of Elian, I think its time for Justa to come in and remind everyone to avoid the political discussions.

FWIW, I'm not a Republican, but I think Clinton is a low life.
