When you thought you heard it all from the RDRAM hypesters, here comes a press release from Kingston:

Rambus Price per Performance

If you look at the actual price per megahertz, Rambus is actually a good buy! The difference in the price per performance between SDRAM (100 MHz or 133 MHz) and Rambus (800 MHz) is quite an eye-opener. If you take the current average Technology price, divide it by the MHz, you see that the price per performance shows Rambus providing the best performance value per dollar.

Standard Cost/Speed Cost/MHz
PC100 ECC $179/100MHz $1.79/MHz*
PC133 ECC $169/133MHz $1.69/MHz*
RDRAM ECC $1108/800MHz $1.38/MHz*

*Prices based on average retail price for 128 MB memory modules

PS: How much more pathetic can this get?
