I think consumers have been harmed. What's more important is that the Judge thinks consumers have been harmed.

Of course the consumer has been harmed. Do you like paying the MSFT Tax every time you buy a PC? At prices higher than most hardware components. I am surprised that the stock price is not down to 60. It will get there in due time IMO. John are you still long MSFT?

I do not look for a smart snap back from this.

John F. Dowd--The "consumer" isn't mentioned in the Sherman Act. It protects other businesses. The consumer is irrelevant to this law. You are swallowing all of Bill G.'s propaganda.

John F. Dowd: I would rather get $65 a share for MSFT now than get $45 a share or less. I think if you love the stock you could buy it back 20 to 25 points cheaper IMO. I mentioned my opinion of the stock several weeks ago, and feel that it will go lower not due to the Judges orders but due to their poor business software prospects (WINDOWS 2000).

I believe I gave you my theory earlier (a couple of weeks ago) that the drop will come in phases. The next phase is May 24th when the judge issues his punishments.
