I'd be more inclined to agree if MSFT hadn't had a history of bad-mouthing their future earnings prospects, which everyone then cheerfully ignored. If people are now more inclined to lend credence to their dire predictions, I suspect that this has come about because of the Justice Dept. action. Trying to fathom the reasons behind stock moves is a lot like reading goat entrails. At least it's a free form of amusement. After the past few weeks, many investors are going to be needing inexpensive ways to pass the time in the future, I predict.
