"they" are just doing what works. as greenspan showed everyone in 98, the best possible way to manipulate the market is to cut interest rates 15 minutes before options expiration. Not a week before, not 6 hours before, but 15 minutes before expiration. --------------------------------- exactly. also they must have noticed that the market tried to circumvent the manipulation by selling off late in the day, so they're now trying to condition it into not doing that anymore. what a farce...
