CR! Where have you been! It's very very nice to see you here. I would give you a dollar, but for some reason, my stocks turned on me today like rabid dogs and I have no dollars to spare. I am threatening to shoot them one and all, except for maybe NUAN. It's still a newborn and may be worth raising. What IS the difference between envy and jealousy? Well, I will make you feel better. The concert was held in the Mandalay's large conference center which holds 12000, not your intimate setting, although it supposedly is the smallest audience these guys have sung to ever. On each corner of the arena were giant screens, so that you found yourself watching them for closeups more than you watched the stage. In other words- when you see the concert on PBS, where it will no doubt air sooner or later, you will see as much as I did, because I'm an inveterate screen watcher. Also my mind wanders a great deal. I spent one aria watching the little humidifiers at the feet of each singer sending columns of moisture toward their famous mouths wondering if it really helped. And another aria taking my glasses on and off, because I was wearing a contact lens in my left eye and I was curious to see,if I wore my glasses at the same time, I could see twice as well. It doesn't seem to work like that though. Also, when they did an American tribute, I judged them on who sang English with the least accent. Pavorotti lost, but he is so damned cute. Carreras is sexy in a kind of ascetic way- like Leslie Howard in GWTW. And Domingo looks like The Godfather.
