Barry, Pat Gelsinger has always been a staunch Rambus supporter. While I believe every one of his comments, I'm also afraid that the promoters of DDR will find some way to make it work on the desktop without resorting to 12-layer boards. Obviously the anti-Rambus coalition wouldn't be so supportive of DDR SDRAM across all market segments, including mainstream desktops, if they didn't think there could be a cheap and easy way to handle the electrical challenges of DDR.
