Gregory. We are dealing with a story out of Japan. These stories have in the past been distorted. There is a lot of money at stake and those quotes attributed to the JApanese manager are of a nature that would not normally be released by any major company in the US. The attached post fails to confirm them and indicated QCOM's accellerating release dates.

I just got off the phone with IR at QCOM regarding the 4500 ASIC. I was told that it would be shipping in
quantity by summer. This chip is intended for use on PC cards or for high speed data capable phones. I don't
recall hearing much about this recently.

Also, the person I talked to was not aware of any official release made by QCOM regarding bidding for
spectrum in Japan. I have inquired further via email and I'll post the results of that inquiry when available.

It sounds as if things are very much up in the air due to the high level of FUD and QCOM itself is starting to get
annoyed with it.

Greg, I for one appreciate your forthrightness. Please keep it up. I remember posts from people on this thread discouraging you from calling the top on this stock back in the mania days, after you had made a series of successful calls- and what a shame. --John G, Greg's not always right- (although he usually is at tops!)but he's not trying to BS anyone or bully them into his viewpoint. The real danger here is lapsing into group-think, reinforcing those who "agree" with us and ridiculing/shutting out dissenting posts.

Let me interject. 1)If Qcom holds only 40% of ASIC market in 2005 and there are a billion CDMA subscribers who cares if WCDMA or CDMA2000 is chosen. 2)The WCDMA systems turn on is atleast 2-3 years away. HDR, 1X,5X will be here within 12 months. Alot can happen in that time frame. If Qcom gets royalties, Qcom will still be a gold mind. Your trust and money are with IRWIN Jacobs he has executed time and again in the face of all types of FUD. If you invest in Qcom you are investing in Irwin, and Qcom MGMT and worldwide acceptance of any brand of CDMA. &0% of press I have read on Qcom has been dead wrong and the other 25% has been 1/2 wrong.

I am with you. I sold out Q right after earning. The chart scared sh*t out of me. Could be something going on behind the scene.

GRegory. " Every time I buy
a stock, I re-buy in my head daily, if I start to think about not buying, then I start question it as a holding. "

This is probably a good practice. However I will point out that the Field Manual states that gorilla stocks are good for the long run and can be held with a quarterly review when earnings come out. They are so entrenched that things just don't change that fast.

Personally, I tend to continually question investments with heavy commitments just as you do. But perhaps this info woll help with the pressure.
