NW: My reading on the earlier time for the earnings? More "cool stuff". A gimmick. Capellas is going to a first run of a movie at the local drive-in and wants to get away early.

If earnings are good doesn't it look a bit jejeune to be boasting about it by calling an early announcement? And does that mean that in future if he does not have the announcement early that earnings are going to be bad? Conversely, the same if the news is bad.

What will be gained by an early announcement? Guaranteed CNBC comment? If that is the aim - that they are trying to get more coverage - then presumably they are happy with results. Expectations are so low that it would be difficult for them to disappoint.

Its interesting that comparing the share price one day before earnings with those in the past, the stock price is lower than it has been in severak years. Maybe this time it will be "buy on the news".
