A provocative response... Where I live, my custom made 12 gauge paired AYA's are in the police local armoury -where they belong- until I sign them out for practice, a hunting trip, or competition. Registered firearms are not allowed in the home, unless security is passed by police inspection (doubtful). Hand guns are disallowed, period. Armed robbery is 20 to life. No appeal. Children don't kill other kids in school yards. There is no such thing as drive by or free way shootings. Part of that old British overthrown system, I guess. But the UK has nuclear tipped Harrier pilots too - so what's the point? Hopefully, they are as responsible as any American combat flyer or their command. My point is that main stream America has gone gun amok thanks to Hollywood, Heston, and the machinations of the NRA as front for arms merchants, and failure to control and educate. The mystique of the Wild West lives on. Draw, Hombre...meet ya back of the school yard at high noon...But enough...your point is taken..we are way off the scope of Anthony's thread here. Regards.

I wonder what wise rebels such as Jefferson and Franklin would have to say on the issue today, under such changed circumstances.

my guess is they'd have never allowed things to get as out of control as they are. the government of, by and for the people would still be the law of the land instead of the government running the people.

we need another revolt...if we could only herd all the sheep and convince them to only send in 10% of their income and stop paying any other taxes we might gain control again.

peter, the FF's foresaw this, and left a device to deal with it. It's called an amendment. A few have even been known to pass.

Regards,
