If you can explain to me in what way this move will "TURN" the game maybe I'll see that it's not a desperate move.

If I had a business I'd like people to be beating my doors down to buy my products, not the opposite..

Too obvious.

They were better organized and more properly subtle back when they were backing NextWave in C-Block. Back then they had little to lose if anything backfired.

If DDI is truly on the fence about cdma2000/WCDMA Qualcomm's current tactics could easily push them to WCDMA, IMO.
