Jim,

Intel's position has already been stated by Gelsinger. Currently 12 layer mother boards are required to address the wide data paths required by DDR for use in main memory.

By slowing the DDR down clock to 100 MHZ some of these issues are alleviated.

Could it be that Intel stated their current capabilities? Could it be that Intel's capabilities may improve in the future. Could it be that there are other chip design teams out there working on the same problem that may arrive at a superior solution?

Just off the top of my head, you have Intel, AMD, Via, ServerWorks, Micron all working on DDR chipsets. Given recent debacles of Intel chipset division, do you think that Intel is the most competent of all these teams?

Joe

Ooops! Did we get caught telling a little fib?
