My prediction is that religion as it exists today will be relatively unchanged.

So you think that current belief and practice represent the final and penultimate evolution of religious belief?

Imagine the Norseman who slew to enter Valhalla, the Egyptian who sacrificed to Ra, the inquisitor who burned Jews to the glory of God... don't you think that each of them also believed that their religions represented the final and penultimate evolution of religious belief?

They were wrong. Might you also be wrong?

Oh, i think the Christian certainty of their righteousness and rightitude is probably fair game for a satirical tease. Unless satire is by definition bigotry? It may have come to that, now that I think of it.

I think rolling one's eyes skeptically at this stance is hardly hate speech. The fact is, I am skeptical, and I say why. That's not a bad thing, it's a good thing. Bigotry and "ugly head" are bad things.
