NEW YORK, April 25 (Reuters) - Lehman Bros. said Tuesday it
started Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ:ORCL) as a buy and set a price target
at $100 a share.
-- said the explosion of e-commerce and the Internet should
be large catalysts of growth for Oracle's database revenue
given the scalability and reliability requirements of the
Internet.
-- said the move to partner with consulting firms bodes
well for the company's software businesses and its operating
margin as a whole.
-- said Oracle has a huge opportunity to drive its
operating margin upward as the company applies the "Internet
value proposition" to its own business.
-- said it is an early leader in the nascent e-commerce
exchange arena for equity opportunities and additional software
sales.
-- shares of Oracle were up 2-9/16 at 75.
