If this number has any creditability at all the whole process is out of kilter and analyists need to retire. This kind of a difference looks like another game of manipulation to me and a very good company is going to take it on the chin for some bullshit number like this. If its close to the mark the company needs a whole new set of analyists.

With the exception of LSI that is down this morning by about 3% practically all semis are up between 5% to 20%!

Whisper number of $0.42 when the expected is $0.25 is a bit ridiculous. How on earth and who for that matter came up with that number?! It seems these days anyone can come up wiht a whisper number, so we may as well say the whisper number of LSi for this past quarter should be $10.
