isolated communities tend have more traditional values
I'm well aware of these communities. I have 150 acres of prime corn & soybean land in Iowa and spend time there frequently. The people are great, I love it there. I spend even more time in the city (because you can't live on 150 acres anymore and I have to subsidize it). The people in the city are for the most part great too, the biggest difference is there are a lot more of them so they become harder to know. When I take my kids to the farm we can ride 4-wheelers, horses, and shoot guns and fireworks. They love it. In the city we watch a lot more TV because there is only so much you can do in a 1/4 acre back yard (and spending more time at the mall, or arcades, or a batting cage is not much better than TV and a lot more expensive). That's just one of those facts of life that I have to learn to live with. It doesn't make it any easier when there is pressure to come up with just one way of doing things in both environments.
