Seeker and Auric,

Is that what I really said?? :)
Did I really twist Auric's words?? :)
Can we really be held accountable for such action?? :)

Are we being two-faced little hypocrites now?? Here is the real program. An action for defamation (slander when it is the spoken word; libel when it is the written word) is aimed at protecting reputations from false or misleading statements, allegations or innuendo. The idea is that any false or misleading statements, allegations or innuendo that would tend to lower a man's reputation in the eyes of the community is actionable, whether or not it results in economic harm (damages).

Statements that are positive in nature, made in good faith, even if they turn out to be incorrect, are not aimed at tarnishing a man's reputation, do not tend to lower him in the eyes of the community, and are not likely to harm his economic interests. Therefore they are not defamatory, and not actionable.

A simple but critical difference. That's the fundamental differentiator between your posts and mine. There's an underlying story told in this post of mine, I hope you can find it.
