Sandeep,

Check your facts. Win 3.X did NOT do preemptive multitasking.
Win 95 was the 1st consumer OS from MSFT to do preemptive multitasking. (3.X did cooperative multi-tasking)

Agreed. The Mac OS uses context switching. Is there a problem with that of which I am unaware compared to preemptive multitasking? Context switching is quite stable.
