Ampal-American Israel Corporation to Trade On the Nasdaq Stock Market

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2000--Ampal-American Israel Corporation (AMEX:AIS - news) announced today that it is switching the listing of its Class A Stock from the American Stock Exchange to the Nasdaq Stock Market©.

Effective Monday, May 1, 2000, the Company's Class A Stock will trade under the symbol AMPL.

Ampal's management believes that Nasdaq's multiple market maker structure will provide Ampal with enhanced visibility and liquidity.

The Nasdaq Stock Market lists nearly 5,000 companies, trades more shares per day, and has a higher dollar volume of trades than any other U.S. market.
