Hmm. Goldman is the lead underwriter for the AT&T wireless IPO.. Pricing is tomorrow night. Biggest IPO in history. Biggest underwriting fees in history. The naz looked like it was going to tank. Now it has been confirmed that goldman was buying up futures starting at 3:30 yesterday, and has been doing so today.

Lets see. A few million in futures spent, and a few billion in underwriting fees made if brought to market in a reflated bubble?

WHAT A COUNTRY.

Well, the calls will expire worthless and they will sell some more calls. Or the stock will recover and they will sell the stock.

Didn't know that was such a widespread practice. But then, you have the numbers on everything else<G>.

Either way, they're SOL. If the stocks go up they get called away at low prices, and if they go down, not only are they sold out, but they have to buy back the calls with their high premiums.
