GlobeSpan Shatters Existing G.lite Speed Barrier with 4 Mbps Offering

RED BANK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2000--

Software Upgrade to Titanium Fourte(tm) Chipset Offers Highest
Available Speed and Density

Driving G.lite speed limits up to 4 Mbps, GlobeSpan, Inc. today announced a
software upgrade to its Titanium Fourte(tm) chipset which more than
doubles today's 1.5 Mbps speeds. GlobeSpan's achievement is further
enhanced with a solution that substantially reduces power and increases
density by 30% over existing solutions on the market. This breakthrough in
speed affirms GlobeSpan's leadership position and demonstrates its ability
to drive future market requirements.

The Titanium Fourte chipset is a highly flexible solution that allows
equipment manufacturers a speedier time-to-market. By requiring minimal
external components that result in a compact board layout, equipment
manufacturers can also cut development costs.

The full programmability and field upgradeability of the chipset minimizes
the risk of product obsolescence. In addition to supporting G.lite, the
chipset also supports all ADSL standards including G.DMT (ITU G.992.1),
G.992.1 and G.992.2 Annex C, ANSI T1.413 Issue 2, and ANSI TR-59
RADSL.

"By achieving this measure of speed and density, we have once again led
the industry in performance," said Angelo Stephano, GlobeSpan's Vice
President of Worldwide Marketing. "This latest software upgrade is a
testament to GlobeSpan's commitment to constantly enhance our products'
functionality and provide greater value to our customers."

Availability

GlobeSpan's Titanium Fourte chipset featuring the 4 Mbps G.lite software
upgrade is now available, along with a detailed reference design aimed at
reducing customers' development cost and accelerating their
time-to-market.
