OK, I ignored the cut and paste of the Peggy Noonan article yesterday hoping that discussion of this issue will stop on this thread, but obviously not. So let me say this.

The Peggy Noonan article is an absolute POS.

The WSJ ought to be ashamed to have printed it.

It took me a long time to come up with a plausible explanantion of why the WSJ would print such an obvious POS.

And my conclusion is this. A political party that the WSJ is partial to is putting its foot in its mouth, being on the wrong side of this issue. The WSJ will print any cr*p to bail them out.
