Why would a Church official be allowed to see the boy and U.S. Senators are not?

Hahahahahahaha. They are just about the same eh?

Let me see the Senator shows up holding a pink Easter egg with the Miami relatives in tow. That sure sounds almost like a Church official coming to see the family. Oh man talk about your unbalanced equations.

>>What does concern me are the Constitutional rights Americans have, if they are upheld and the integrity of government officials.

That is the larger issue about the whole Clinton-Reno abuse of power.

It depends. There are Church officials and then there are representatives of the so-called National Council of Churches.

The latter is a far Left group that serves as apologists for Left wing dictators. Read George Will's column in today's Washington Post.
