Hmmm, QCOM buys into NetZero yesterday and now Chuckie
buys into E-Loan. I wonder if the institutions have
been dumpster dining on the fallen i-nets as well.
Pump and dump round II could be right around the corner.

It's the same thing, you're the casino when you write/sell.

CB,
Don't know if you got an answer about the writing covered calls. If they are writing calls, they are taking a bearish position. They are saying that they think that the stock is going down and they expect the calls to expire worthless or at least to buy them back at a cheaper price. It is a good way to hold on to one's position and still make money in a falling market. However, if the market goes up, their stocks can get called away.

I think that in the context of the string of messages leading to this one, this would be very good advice in a bear market and not bad advice as I believe was asserted. (however, I think we have hit bottom, though we may pullback in a contracting trading range).
