Ted,

they probably can get Willamette out fairly soon

Don't count on it. There are a lot of things that have to happen between running Powerpoint and production.

RE:"I don't think Gelsinger is playing...they probably can get Willamette out fairly soon. You know Intel has got to be working as hard as they can to make it happen. Its something to be concerned about.

Plus what do you think will happen to RDRAM prices when all the manu. start producing in volume? Do you think they will drop as much as Intel says?"

AMD could have launched Athlon in March '99 too...but it was a new core, new chipset, new motherboard, a bunch of new drivers etc....all that plus RDRAM for Willy...
No wonder Willy won't launch right now...
Someone is BSing us...
If you think Willy will launch soon, load up on Intel. It's bound to get a big run up on the Willy launch.
I'll stick with what I have in both and add on dips...

As far as ramping RDRAM...don't you think the RAM manufacturers are a little hesitant to ramp up the RAMBUS toll road? You think you've seen resentment...just wait.

Ted I hope they rush it out(haste makes waste).. If it has say 200+ errata and it's chipset is 1/2 as good as i820 motherboards we will be just fine.
