hi tc,

this is the best i can come up with now...

Diskette Drives
What To Look For When Your Drive Won't Read Diskettes

[edit: i think this line points at the possible trouble... "If you receive an error message such as 'Error Reading Drive A' when you attempt to access data from a diskette, then the drive's read/write head probably is out of kilter."]

smartcomputing.com

hope it helps

:)

thecow, re >On my pc at work I tried to copy a large file (broken up by filesplitter) from floppies to the desktop<

If the floppies were prepared by another PC, then there is an alternate way of transferring the large file: upload it to one of the free storage sites. But I don't know your circumstances - so this may not be practical. But that's how I would do it.
