Interesting! However, I am interested in the long term prospects for Rambus. Long term RDRAM looks like it will scale to higher clock speeds much more easily than DDR.

Short term who knows when Dunderbird and Splitfire will actually make it on the scene. Apparently, not even the AMDroids.

Again it looks like DDR is headed for a dead end in terms of clock rates. It would be interesting to plot out the memory requirements as a function of clock speed and processor clock for the next few years.

DDR is a dog that won't hunt beyond a maximum clock speed well below that of RDRAM. So much for the latency and bandwidth issues long term.
